New boat purchases often end up in a bit of a no man's land when it comes to test sails. It may be that the potential owner isn't familiar with the vessel or the seller isn't comfortable with being part of the process. Some yacht brokers manage to handle this situation seamlessly whilst others are reticent to get involved.

Having someone onboard to handle the vessel doesn't take away the roll of the surveyor or broker. But it does leave someone onboard solely concentrating on the safe handing of the vessel free from any direct involvement in the selling process. This gives everyone onboard peace of mind and allows them to concentrate on their own roll in transaction.
